They can get airborne in 45 seconds,reach the most northerly point in Derbyshire in 16 minutes and the most southerly point in Leicestershire in 11 minutes. They operate 7 days a week and cover an area of 2100 squire miles, covering a population in excess of 1.4 million plus motorists passing through the area on the M1. It costs £1.5 million a year to operate this service and this is only 1 of the air ambulances in the country. Guess that's why they need the help of a super fund raising bear
