The Robin Hood Owners Club and register (RHOCaR)is an enthusiastic kit car builders and owners club, with possibly the largest membership in the UK . In previous years we have raised in excess of £6,000.00 for our chosen charity, Rainbows Children’s Hospice in Leicester . For 2010 / 2011 we are going to undertake a 12 month fundraising event, with proceeds going to the Air Ambulance charities in the Air Ambulance Association. The event is to start at the national kit car show held at Stoneleigh Park , Warwickshire, on the 2nd and 3rd of May 2010.
The event will take the format of Hoody, the bear, travelling around the UK ; visiting each and every county, his main form of transport being the kit cars owned by Club members. He also has 2 trips planned to Le Mans , France , for the annual 24 hour race and the bi-annual classic race. During his travels he will be accompanied by a travel log / journal, this will contain a record of where he has been and the signatures of any personalities he has been lucky enough to meet along the way. The following dates are the main shows we as a club attend and shall be key dates in this event.
National kit car show, Stoneleigh Park , 2-3 May 2010
Detling kit car show, April 2011, date to be confirmed
National kit car show, Stoneleigh Park , 1-2 May 2011- Hoody’s final destination.
Hoody is to have on him badges representing all the ambulances in the Association, highlighting that this event is supporting all 19 trust equally. We have registered the web domain hoodythebear.co.uk which will contain links to all the Air Ambulance websites, as well as those of any companies donating. There will be a blog on there updating everyone with what Hoody is doing. We have the support of Complete Kit Car magazine, who will be advertising the event. There should be quite a few photo shoots and escapades throughout the year. Keep up to date on Hoodys blog at hoodythebear.co.uk
